History

The Gymea Miranda Uniting Church Parish was founded at the inauguration of the Uniting Church in Australia on 22nd June 1977. At that time the Miranda Methodist Church occupied the current buildings in Central Road, Miranda and the Miranda Presbyterian Church, formerly located in Animbo Street Miranda, moved to join the congregation in Central Road buildings. The Gymea Congregational Church joined the Gymea Miranda Uniting Church Parish in 1977 but continued to use the church in the Gymea shopping centre until this building was sold in the early 2000’s.

Pipe Organ

History: Second Chance Opportunity Shop 1992 - 2017

The church operated an opportunity shop in Gymea for 25 years, from 1992 until 2017. The Leader published an article on the closure of the Second Chance op-shop on 19 May 2017. To access the story and the video click here.

History: Annual Fetes 2009-2019

Since 2009 the church has held our Annual Fete in the church grounds. Each year we have been fortunate to be entertained by talented musicians from local primary and secondary schools. We thank everyone for their participation. Some photos from recent fetes follow:
